The Community of Gimnasium in Sierakowo, Poland was hosted from 25-31 March 2007 teachers and students from 7 countries: Greece, France, England, Romania, Turkey, Hungary and Italy. Our friends had the opportunity to meet with our school, teachers local government, local culture.
The first day all the teachers and students visited our school, they had the chance to meet and talk with our students and teachers. Later at the same day our guests met with the major of Rawicz. After this visit they walked around our city. We could see the Town Hall, the Muzeum, the Planty Park.
In the second day we traveled to Pilchowice. It's a place where we could visit the dam, power station
and in the afternoon our quests saw Wroclaw, the beautiful city, which is called Poland's Venice. Wroclaw was built on 12 islands. You can find here approximately 127 bridges.
We also visited Raclawice Panorama. The Panorama is not just a painting. It's a pilgrimage. The 140m-long canvas depicts the legendary General Kociuszko's victory over the Russian forces at Raclawice in 1794.
On Wednesday teachers and students worked on the levitron, drinking bird and participated in numerous lessons: chemistry, geography, biology, physics, english, arts,etc. They had an opportunity to watch an English film about Poland in our school's cinema.
In the Thursday morning the students finished working onlevitron and they played a volleyball match with students from Gimnazjum in Sierakowie.
In the evening they could watch a show prepared by our students and teachers.
On Frday and Saturday all members of the project went to Cracaw and Owięcim.In Cracaw they saw Jewish Traces, the Wawel Royal Castle.They also walked through Europe's largest medievial market square.
In Owięcim-Auschwits - the site of one of history's most forrific crimes, embodies tragedy, inhumanity and survival of the will.
